I often go with tourists to North regions of Azerbaijan. Near to Gabala city are situated the ruins of old Gabala fortress. Here there was the capital of Caucasus Albania. If you will go by main road little farther to west from this ruins there is the settlement named Nij, where is one of old church temples of Caucasus region. Last time I was here with tourists from USA. They very liked the old Albanian house which before was belonged to pope of Albanian church situated next to village and now was changed to museum. This is very interesting house with old inventory, with vine barrels and cozy restaurant with local cuisine.
When St. Elise came to Caucasus to make his religious mission, he organized the building of some Christian temples. So now there are many old churches and ruins of temples which were built starting from first centuries after Christ in Sheki, Gabala, Gakh and in other adjacent regions.

Last time we also went to Kish village next to Sheki city with wonderful couple from Australia.

Before this temple was very simple building which was built on the place of old pagan temple in 1st century AD, but in Middle Ages was added new cupola. There was the remains of bones in opened graves buried inside of the temple. This bones was belonged to the people lived here before Christians.
